Sorry rotary phone

After being told she's not allowed to have her own cell phone, Adeline takes her frustration out on her rotary phone.

Happy 2nd Birthday Elliott

Elliott sits with his lady friends, Matilda and Adeline, at his birthday party this past weekend. Elliott's mom Emily threw a very colorful and fun party.

Contemplating his wish before blowing out the candle.

Sweet-sugary cake and Adeline gives me this look....ha.

Matilda digs in with two forks after the pieces have been handed out.

Emily and Adeline snuggle up after cake and presents.

Snack face

I took a couple frames of Adeline when Sarah and Caderyn came over for their photo shoot last weekend. The cheddar bunny snack leftover on her lip just cracks me up. Classic toddler moment and I love it.

Addie and her daddy

JD and Addie goof off after a recent photo shoot in the sun room. Love those teeth baby girl!

Aaaaaha!

This afternoon I had the pleasure of watching my friend Tracey's son. Addie and Eli spent most of their time in the sun room looking out the window, chasing the cats and throwing balls. Too cute.

Flashback Photo

JD and Adeline wait for friends before enjoying the Boulder Rodeo this past August. The overalls were mine from when I was little!

Happy St. Patrick's Day from Butte

Adeline, Stephanie and I visited Butte today for their annual parade.

We tried to stay away from the hoards of people drinking and enjoy the sun.

The parade was a blast, full of music (like the bagpipers behind Addie and her Auntie) lots of people and dogs to Addie's delight. Stephanie and Addie were definitely lacking in the green department but they made up for it with their coordinating pink and purple.

Always one to say hi to a new friend.

Playdate with Caderyn

Last week Caderyn came over for a little playdate with Adeline.

Most of the time she just followed him around wanting to play with his trucks.

Addie was also very interested in Sarah's long beautiful hair.

And the best part, when it was time to go Caderyn gave Addie a big hug. Sarah and I just about cried it was so cute.

Gotta love grandparents

We had a fantastic weekend. JD's mom Cathy came to visit Addie. Which meant Friday night JD and I actually got to go out! He went and played poker with his guy friends while I went with my ladies to Sarah's birthday/Silpada/desserts/champagne party. Then we met up downtown. Yes, we went downtown.
After the birthday party my friend Amy and I made a pit stop before heading downtown. I'm a little hesitant to admit this but we stopped off for coffee. (And would you believe there are no coffee shops open in Helena at 9pm?!) So we went to Safeway. After buying coffee, tums and baby yogurt (it was on sale!) we headed to the bar.
After one drink I was ready to go home but we didn't quite make it home till midnight.
It was really fun to get to spend time with friends and my husband without the baby. The best part...Cathy took care of Addie Saturday morning and I got to sleep in till 10:30 - victory!
We had a fun day Saturday shopping and spending time with grandma, capping off the day cheering on the Carroll College men's basketball team.
Unfortunately I woke up this morning sick, sick, sick. I think my body punished me for staying out so late Friday night.

Perfect conditions for a snowman

This afternoon we took Adeline outside and built her a snowman.

She was very engaged and loved the whole process.

Just a little girl next to her snowman.

Little artists

Today my friend Amy invited Adeline and I to come over and finger paint with her and her daughter Mesa (pictured above with her bright yellow finger)

Amy, a former school teacher, was in her element whereas Addie and I...well as you can see from her face in the picture at right, Addie wasn't too enthused about the paint on her hands. Mesa was very interested in painting on her tummy, which led to one of Addie's favorite things...bath time.

And the girls had a blast!

Oh so cozy and cute together!

A rant about Facebook

I caved.
I finally joined the world of Facebook.
With pressure from many, many friends and family (that means you Louisa and Stephanie!) I opened an account.
Before joining I checked out my friends' accounts and heard people talk about Facebook but once I logged on it was shocking.
It seemed as though I already existed on Facebook -- without my knowledge. There were already photographs of me, of JD and of Addie! Once joining I had 15 friend requests immediately. Were these people all online at that moment in time? How did they know where I was? How did they know I joined?
And what really shocked me about Facebook. And I mean really shocked me. In the first 24-hours I received 68 emails from Facebook. 68. Do they really think I have time to read 68 emails?!
Granted, most of them contained mundane information but sometimes it told me a friend of my friend who I've never heard of or met talked about this other person I knew who tagged me in their gallery. Seriously, what? Who has time for this?
I am tempted to just quit it all.
Forget my wall posts and accepting friend requests from people I haven't seen in 15 years or that friend's brother's girlfriend you met while at a wedding in Utah.
But I can't quit, because I now feel the need to represent myself, JD and Addie in the way I want on Facebook. Corny I know, but really. Posting the photos I want and sharing the stories I want.
When it comes down to it -- it really amazes me how interconnected everyone seems to be on Facebook. And that's what I do like about it.
After the controlled chaos calms down of being new to Facebook and I figure out how to organize my photos, I'm sure I will enjoy the convenient ability to stay in touch with so many friends and family -- and connect with old friends.
Bring on the wall posts.

p.s. not to worry...this doesn't mean I'm abandoning this blog...there will be many more photos and stories of Addie to come!

Thoughtful cousins

JD's cousins Libby and Laura mail Adeline drawings, pictures and sometimes their elementary school homework from Indiana. We decided to star taping them to the dinning room window to bring some color to this otherwise dreary end of winter. The splashes of color and creativity of their work brighten our day. Thanks Libby and Laura!
